Youth Career Awareness Workshop

Hi FAACPA Educational Fund Board, FAACPA Board/members, auxiliaries and colleagues,

We are excited, but need your help in inviting junior and senior high school or undeclared college students to attend our Saturday, November 10, 2018, Youth Career Awareness Workshop. The workshop will be held at North Seattle Community College (across from Northgate Mall) from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The hosts for this event is FAACPA Educational Fund, FAACPA, and North Seattle College, who is providing the venue for this event.  Sponsors are Washington Society of CPA’s and Muckleshoot Charitable Fund.

Speakers will be young, successful professionals from different career tracks, including college students who received scholarship awards from various sources.  We hope that this will serve as inspiration to our youth, that higher education is attainable with diligence and determination. Students will get a chance to ask questions and get mentors based on their field of interest.  North Seattle College Faculty will also share different options on the fast track to graduation and other available resources. Breakfast pastries, coffee, tea, snacks and lunch will be provided including $5 transportation allowance.  We will try to get raffle prizes and other giveaway items from our sponsors.

Please forward this flyer to your colleagues, family, office-mates and request for posting in office, as well as neighborhood high school and college bulletins.

We are counting on each board member from EFund and FAACPA to confirm 2-3 attendees each!  It takes a village to make this event successful.  There will be a recognition prize for the member with most confirmed attendees.  We will have a count every weekend, starting September 29, so we, FAACPA family, will reach our goal of  50 attendees.  Let’s all be ambassadors, for a great cause and for our youth!

We need volunteers, too.  Please let us know if you would like to help out at the event, the more, the merrier. If you are interested, please contact Zeny Fletcher at faacpa.education@gmail.com.
